You'll feel right at home in a warm, family-like atmosphere that encourages social interaction and independence. We chose Cottingham Retirement because we needed something that was not too far from where we lived so we could check on him more often and so this location was great. We also really liked the staff and the layout of the place. The facility was very clean and they had tons of activities provided.

There are plenty of skylights, windows, and decorations like plants and antique furniture to make the residents feel at home. Activities are hosted regularly, such as Wii bowling, movie nights, and sports game viewing. Additionally, a church service is held every Saturday.The staff at Cottingham is friendly, attentive, and experienced. My grandfather has dementia, and most of the staff is very helpful, with the rare occasion of an impatient cafeteria worker or nurse. I have joined him during a Christmas lunch, and the food is very good. When an issue or question arises regarding my grandfather's health, the staff immediately attends to it in a helpful manner.

We did run into a couple servers who were not extremely accessible/knowledgeable about food allergies during our visit, but when we asked for a chef or manager, we received amazing, careful care.
